Nothing but net for Sen. Sherrod Brown
In the news business, we all make mistakes, and so we try not to mock our colleagues for their typos.
That said, this was a good one.
The Washington Post misidentified the Yale player who hit the key free throws to ice the team's first-round upset of Baylor: He is Brandon Sherrod, not, as the Post wrote, "Sherrod Brown." That guy is a U.S. senator from Ohio, and his wife, columnist Connie Schultz, picked up on the error.
Brown had fun with it, too:
Brown did go to Yale, but it was a while ago, and he's really more of a baseball guy, famous for colliding with then-congressman Mike Oxley at first base during the 1994 Congressional Baseball Game. Oxley's arm was broken in the collision.
