Trump camp on report of Trump media business: 'No truth to this'
The Trump campaign is shutting down reports that the presumptive Republican nominee is looking into starting his own media business.
“There is no truth to this,” spokeswoman Hope Hicks told Paste BN in an email when asked about a Vanity Fair article that reports Trump is looking into getting into the media business.
The article posted by Vanity Fair’s The Hive reports the billionaire is looking into ways to incorporate the following he’s gained during the election into a media business and cable channel.
The report comes the same week Trump banned The Washington Post from covering his events after a story he felt was unfair.
The story — which was reported by multiple outlets — was based on Trump’s comments that seemed to imply President Obama was somehow involved in the mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando.
Vanity Fair reports that despite Trump’s team denying the story, shortly after the reporter spoke to them Trump tweeted out, “The press is so totally biased that we have no choice but to take our tough but fair and smart message directly to the people!”
