Trump to deliver Clinton attack speech on Wednesday

In the wake of this week's campaign upheaval, Donald Trump plans to discuss the way forward in a speech Wednesday — starting with an attack on Hillary Clinton.

While the campaign announced that Trump "will be making a speech regarding the election" on Wednesday in New York City, it later confirmed that the appearance will include anti-Clinton remarks that had been scheduled for delivery earlier in the month.

"I will be making a big speech tomorrow to discuss the failed policies and bad judgment of Crooked Hillary Clinton," Trump himself tweeted.

The speech — which is expected to include Trump's claims that she and former president Bill Clinton have profited off their public service — was initially scheduled for last week, but was delayed in favor of Trump's remarks on the Orlando terrorist attack.

The revamped Clinton speech now comes two days after the Manhattan real estate mogul fired campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, saying the campaign needs to be re-oriented toward the fall election battle against Hillary Clinton.

"We're going in a different direction," Trump said on NBC's Today show.

Trump is also having fundraising troubles. New reports show he had only $1.3 million in the campaign bank at the start of June; Clinton had $42 million.

One new tactic emerged Tuesday, as Trump sent out his first emailed fundraising solicitation, telling donors he would be "personally matching every dollar that comes in WITHIN THE NEXT 48 HOURS, up to $2 million!"
