Nevada bakery serves up an homage to Donald Trump's hair


RENO, Nev. — It's moved pundits to snark and barbers to weep and at least one fly to explore within. And now it's moved chef Nicholle Alumbaugh to bake. What is this diversely irresistible force? Donald Trump's hair, of course.

Alumbaugh, owner of Homage Bakery in Reno, is offering Pucker Up Trump, one of four pies that pokes fun at the presidential race.

The Trump confection is a lemon meringue beauty whose swoops and swirls of meringue topping are meant to pay (back-handed) homage to the curvilinear exuberance of the Trump tresses.

There are even stiff, fringed sections of pastry crust that resembles a shellacked combover or hairpiece upended by a mischievous gust of wind.

For Hillary Clinton, there's Hillary's Cherry Pie, a tart Montmorency cherry version with a lattice crust. Bernie Sanders comes in for a Blue Bernie, a blueberry cornmeal pie.

The final pie, a peanut butter pie, is dubbed the Nut Job, and as far as presidential politics go this season, well, say no more. If the slice fits ...
