Clinton says she won't go to Mexico, per Peña Nieto's invitation

Hillary Clinton's campaign has called Donald Trump's trip to Mexico "embarrassing," but would a meeting between her and President Enrique Peña Nieto yield better results?

We won't find out, at least not yet. Clinton said on Monday she won't be taking up the president's invitation to go to Mexico before Election Day. When asked if she would accept Peña Nieto's invitation, Clinton said "no."

Her focus, she said, is "on what we're doing to create jobs here at home."

Earlier on Monday, Clinton was at a rally in Cleveland and called Trump's meeting “an embarrassing international incident.” Her recent ad comes to the same conclusion, pointing out that while Trump said the payment for his wall wasn't discussed, Peña Nieto insisted on television he made clear that Mexico would not pay for it.

Pena Nieto extended the invitation to both candidates. Trump announced last week plans to visit the president, hours before his highly anticipated policy speech on immigration.
