Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu stays neutral in Clinton-Trump race

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Like most foreign leaders, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to remain publicly neutral in the race for President of the United States.

"After meeting with 2 leading candidates for POTUS, I'm more convinced than ever that Israel-US bond will remain strong after the elections," .Netanyahu tweeted Monday.

The Israeli leader spoke with both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump on Sunday in New York City.

Both candidates publicized their meetings with statements to maintain and strengthen the U.S-Israel relationship.
