'Empire' cast backs Clinton, slams Trump in new ad

Empire co-creator Lee Daniels and members of the cast are out with a new TV ad for Hillary Clinton focused on race.

The ad called “What Will You Say?” features Daniels and actors Taraji P. Henson, Bryshere Gray, Trai Byers, Jussie Smollett, Tasha Smith, Gabourey Sidibe and Grace Byers.

The ad starts with Henson asking the viewer, “What will I tell my son? What will you tell your daughter? What will we tell the future generation?”

Gray then lists names of African Americans who have been killed: “Trayvon Martin, Sandra Bland, Freddie Gray and Philando Castile.”

“The violence and nasty rhetoric against mankind is unacceptable,” Byers says.

“If Trump gets into office,” Henson begins.

“It will only get worse,” Smollett says.

Other actors then praise Clinton’s policies on guns, health care, women and race.

“So many women and men died for us to have the right to vote. Every time we sit out, we dishonor their sacrifices,” Daniels says.
