Georgia poll shows tight race between Trump and Clinton

Donald Trump is ahead of Hillary Clinton by just 2 points in a new Georgia poll — a margin that puts them in a virtual tie.

The Republican nominee had 44% to Clinton’s 42% among likely Georgia voters in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll. Libertarian Gary Johnson had 9% backing.

An August AJC poll had Trump leading by 4 points.

Georgia hasn’t voted for a Democrat for president since 1992, and the RealClearPolitics rolling average has Trump 5 points ahead of Clinton.

The poll was conducted Oct. 17-20 and included 839 likely voters. The margin of error is 4.26 percentage points.
