Happy Birthday, HRC: A decade-by-decade look at Clinton's life

Hillary Clinton is spending her 69th birthday campaigning in battleground Florida, hoping to be the first female president in U.S. history.
But how has she spent some of her other birthdays? Paste BN looked back at what was going on in Clinton’s life every decade. (And Clinton's campaign website has its own timeline outlining her yearly milestones.)
Age 69
Clinton is just two weeks out from the 2016 election. Most national polls have her ahead — her RealClearPolitics rolling average is 5 points ahead of Donald Trump nationally — and she is even closing the gaps in Republican strongholds like Arizona and Texas. But her opponent is not going to give up the race without a fight: Trump insists he will win and that the polls are part of a mass conspiracy trying to “rig” the election in Clinton’s favor.
Age 59
Ten years ago, Clinton spent her birthday in another election cycle. She was running for re-election for her Senate seat in New York — and she would go on to win the seat by more than double the share of her challenger, former Yonkers mayor John Spencer.
Age 49
The year Clinton turned 49, she was still campaigning — but this time it was for husband Bill Clinton’s second term, in which he won the election against Republican Sen. Bob Dole.
Age 39
Clinton was first lady of Arkansas. That year, she became the only female member of the board of Walmart. She would remain on the board until 1992, when her husband was running for president.
Age 29
It’s election time again. Well, sort of. Bill Clinton was running to be the attorney general of Arkansas, but after winning the primary by 26%, he was unopposed in the general election.
Age 19
Clinton was a student at Wellesley College, where she would ultimately graduate with a degree in political science.
Age 9
Clinton was growing up in a Park Ridge, Ill. a Chicago suburb.
