Trump to meet with TV executives, anchors

Donald Trump will have an off-the-record meeting with TV network executives and anchors Monday.

Just ahead of the 1 p.m. ET meeting reporters at Trump Tower spotted NBC's Deborah Turness, CNN's Jeff Zucker and Wolf Blitzer, Fox's Bill Shine, Jack Abernethy, Jay Wallace and Suzanne Scott and CBS's John Dickerson and Charlie Rose. MSNBC told Paste BN thatPhil Griffin, MSNBC President, had also arrived.

CNN was first to report the news.

The meeting comes as Trump and his team struggle to build a relationship with the press following a contentious campaign where Trump often attacked members of the media.

Trump aides announced that the president-elect will release a video on Wednesday outlining his legislative priorities; a move that some say would be more impactful as a press conference. Trump has not held a press conference since July.

The media emerged bruised from the 2016 election cycle. A Pew Research survey released Monday found that just 22% of Americans surveyed would give the media a grade of A or B on conduct during the election cycle, while 38% would give the press a failing grade.
