W.Va. woman gets job back after racist post about first lady

The director of a West Virginia non-profit who was suspended for a racist post about Michelle Obama that sparked national outrage will return to work later this month, according to the Charleston Gazette-Mail.
“It will be refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady in the White House. I’m tired of seeing a Ape in heels,” Pamela Ramsey Taylor, director of the Clay County Development Corp., wrote on Facebook last month.
Taylor is scheduled to return to work at the Clay County Development Corp. on Dec. 23, according to a letter from acting director Leslie McGlothin to the West Virginia Bureau of Senior Services, the Gazette-Mail reported.
Former Clay mayor Beverly Whaling resigned over the racist post after she replied “Just made my day Pam” to Taylor's Facebook comment. The original post was deleted but not before it went viral on social media.
The non-profit Clay County Development Corp. offers services to seniors and low-income residents and is funded through state and federal grants and local fees. It is not affiliated with the town of Clay.
