Flashback Friday: Newt Gingrich meets the Power Rangers

Children and millennials will flock to theaters this weekend to see the reboot of Power Rangers for a dose of 1990s nostalgia.

And we have to wonder — will Newt Gingrich join them?

After all, Gingrich got to meet the Power Rangers back in 1995, on his very first day as Speaker of the House. According to the Associated Press, the Rangers were invited to Capitol Hill to entertain children who were attending the swearing-in ceremonies for the 104th Congress.

"I want to say on behalf of Congress that we're glad to have you all here," Gingrich told them.

Talk about a flashback.
