This California congressman explains why he likes Beyoncé

Rep. Darrell Issa, a member of the Beyhive? "You better Bey-lieve it," he tweeted Thursday.

For the California Republican, it comes down to Queen Bey's music, he explained this week on Sirius XM's The Press Pool. He's a self-proclaimed "oldie who likes songs where you know what they're saying."

"Beyoncé did quite a few, including ('Single Ladies'), where they've got meaning," he told host Julie Mason. "It's talking about, you know, put a ring on the finger, don't fall for the guy unless he's willing to fall for you fully."

To Issa, the stories that Beyoncé tells in her music are just like the ones told by Motown.

"It's not that I like all of Beyoncé's stuff, but I like a lot of it," he said.

Issa appeared on the show to discuss music that inspires him, music legislative policy and the Grammys on the Hill.
