Ivanka wishes everyone a 'joyful' pride month, while the president stays silent
Ivanka Trump kicked off Friday by wishing everyone a happy pride month.
"Logging back on after Shavuot, wishing everyone a joyful #Pride2017. This month we celebrate and honor the #LGBTQ community," she tweeted.
It's more than her father, President Trump, has done. The president has so far remained silent on whether he will issue a presidential proclamation declaring June as Pride Month, as former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton did in the past. No Republican president has ever recognized pride month.
