FBI director nominee Christopher Wray gets confirmation hearing date

Christopher Wray, President Trump's pick to head to the FBI, will appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee on July 12, the committee announced Wednesday.

If confirmed, Wray would fill the spot left vacant by the abrupt firing of James Comey.

A former prosecutor, Wray served in the George W. Bush administration. From 2003 to 2005, he was chief of the department's criminal division. He was also a member of the administration's Corporate Fraud Task Force and oversaw the fraud prosecutions of former executives at Enron Corp.

Trump announced Wray as his selection last month.
