It's not just Hollywood: Military still grapples with its own sex scandals

The Pentagon announced recently that it is removing a two-star general after Paste BN found he was exchanging flirty messages with the wife of a subordinate soldier.

But our reporter who broke that story, Tom Vanden Brook, tells our Cup of Politics podcast that case is just the tip of the iceberg: There are at least 100 such episodes involving top military officials every year and possibly many more. But the Pentagon doesn't track these cases, and the office that was created to do so has been shut down.

The military code bars any "conduct unbecoming an officer," but as Vanden Brook's  reporting shows, enforcing that bar remains a major challenge for the military.
