Four arrested in alleged Germany mosque attack plot

Prosecutors in German said four people suspected of planning to attack mosques and housing for asylum seekers were arrested after raids across the country Wednesday.

Prosecutors allege the "Old School Society," a right-wing extremist group, planned to attack the housing, mosques and well-known members of the Islamic-extremist Salafist movement in Germany.

The four arrested, identified only as Andreas H., Markus W., Denise Vanessa G. and Olaf O., are accused of founding the group and procuring explosives.

In a statement, prosecutors said 250 investigators searched homes in Saxony and four other states.

"In the search, pyrotechnics with large explosive power and further pieces of evidence were confiscated," the statement said, according to the BBC.

Prosecutors said they are still trying to determine whether the group had concrete plans for attacks.
