Swiss police hunt Paris attack suspects
Officials in Switzerland say they are searching for suspects in relation to last month's terror attacks in Paris.
Geneva's department of security said Swiss federal authorities flagged "suspicious individuals susceptible to being in Geneva or the Geneva region."
"The Geneva police, on the basis of this information, have increased their level of vigilance and reinforced the number of police agents on the ground," a statement from the security department said.
Reuters reported that a security guard at the United Nations building told its reporter that authorities were searching for "four guys" who were thought to be in the area.
Some 130 people were killed and hundreds injured in the series of attacks in the French capital on Nov. 13. The Islamic State, also known as ISIL or ISIS, claimed responsibility.
Several arrests have been made in Belgium in relation to the attacks. A Swiss police officer who spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he isn’t authorized to discuss the investigation, said Belgian-born suspect Salah Abdeslam, who remains at large, isn’t among those being sought in Switzerland.
