Escaping Ukraine: Faces of refugees and nationals as they flee to safety

As Russian military attacks persist, many Ukrainian refugees and nationals are fleeing their homes and splitting their families. The United Nations refugee agency said Tuesday that more than 2 million people had fled Ukraine since attacks began, while more than 1,300 civilian casualties had been recorded as a result of the invasion. 

Families forced apart at transportation stations are stuck inside train cars on their journey to safety. In an attempt to escape additional attacks, Ukrainians, many of whomtraveled to Poland, flock to neighboring countries.
