Andrew Tate, a controversial internet personality and former kickboxer, is facing more criminal accusations after authorities in the United Kingdom announced nearly a dozen charges against him, including rape and human trafficking.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced the charges against Tate and his brother, Tristan Tate, on May 28. In addition to human trafficking and rape, the Tate brothers have been charged with inflicting actual bodily harm.

Tristan Tate was hit with 10 charges in total, including controlling prostitution for gain. The 11 charges against Andrew Tate are in connection with one complaint, while the charges against his brother are related to three complaints, CPS said.

“We can confirm that we have authorised charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate for offences including rape, human trafficking, controlling prostitution and actual bodily harm against three women," a CPS spokesperson told Paste BN on May 28. "These charging decisions followed receipt of a file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police."

CPS said it authorized the recent charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate before an extradition warrant was issued in 2024 to bring them to Britain from Romania. The agency said courts in Romania, where the Tates are separately under criminal investigation, ordered their extradition to Britain last year.

"However, the domestic criminal matters in Romania must be settled first," the CPS spokesperson said.

British authorities had been investigating the Tate brothers on allegations of rape and trafficking that date to bewteen 2012 and 2015.

One of the Tates' attorneys, Joseph McBride, told Paste BN in an email that "these charges are old news. Nothing new has happened."

Andrew Tate facing civil lawsuit filed by four women in UK

A pending civil lawsuit brought by four British women in June 2024 accuse Andrew Tate of sexual offenses, including rape, assault and coercive control. All four women allege Tate choked them, including during forced and consensual sexual encounters.

Court filings previously obtained by Paste BN allege Tate strangled two women in Britain – one of whom accuses him of rape, whipping her with a belt and pointing a gun in her face – so frequent and with so much force that they developed red spots in their eyes indicating bleeding capillaries.

The allegations stem from when Tate was living in England from 2013 to 2015, which was during the early stages of launching an adult webcam business.

"I’m just debating whether to rape you or not,” Tate said to one of the women who sued him, according to the court filings. Tate had his hand around her neck as he posed the question. He later raped her, the filings say.

Tate denied all allegations in the case, court filings say.

What other criminal charges are the Tate brothers facing?

In Romania, the Tate brothers are facing allegations of human trafficking, money laundering and sex crimes. Romanian authorities arrested them in 2022 regarding allegations that they lured women to the country and allegedly sexually exploited them. The Tates have publicly denied these allegations on multiple occasions.

Once the case in Romania concludes, authorities pledged to honor the UK's request to extradite them to face trial in Britain for the separate allegations of rape and human trafficking involving different women between 2012 and 2015.

In the U.S., Florida's attorney general also opened an investigation into the Tates, adding they "very much" appear to have solicited, trafficked, preyed upon women around the world. This comes after one of Andrew Tate's former girlfriends filed a lawsuit in March in Los Angeles, accusing him of sexual assault and battery, which he adamantly denies.

'They were afraid I can influence elections'

On May 27, Tate alleged on his X account that British and Romanian authorities are trying to "get (him) get him off the internet."

"They were afraid I can influence elections," Tate wrote. "The Brits ordered Romania to get me off the internet by any means possible. Now its just gone away into perma stasis. It was never real."
