Pakistan condemns Trump's bombing of Iran - a day after nominating him for Peace Prize

Only hours before Donald Trump ordered airstrikes on three nuclear facilities in Iran on June 21, Pakistan recommended the president for the Nobel Peace Prize for his “decisive diplomatic intervention” earlier this year.
But, a day after nominating Trump, the Pakistani government condemned the president for his military action against Iran.
“The unprecedented escalation of tension and violence, owing to ongoing aggression against Iran is deeply disturbing. Any further escalation of tensions will have severely damaging implications for the region and beyond,” Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Reuters.
Before the U.S. launched a strike against Iran over the weekend, Pakistan officials announced they were nominating Trump as "a genuine peacemaker" for his role in bringing an end to the conflict between nuclear-armed neighbors, India and Pakistan, having “demonstrated great strategic foresight and stellar statesmanship”.
In a social media post on Friday, Trump gave a long list of conflicts he said he had resolved, including India and Pakistan, and the Abraham Accords in his first term between Israel and some Muslim-majority countries. He added, "I won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize no matter what I do."
