Friends, we are truly in the dog days of summer.

For one thing, we just celebrated National Dog Day. I hope you got your fill of cute dog photos on social media and maybe treated your own very good boy or girl to a new toy. If not, it's not too late — and Chewy is having a sale.

One sure sign that summer is coming to an end: Labor Day sales. Today we've got your guides to sales at Kate Spade and Home Depot (because we all contain multitudes).

If you're in the South — particularly Louisiana  — you're bracing for Hurricane Ida, now set to make landfall as a Category 3 storm. I'm quite literally with you, and I hope you find our guides to portable generators and preparing your outdoor space as useful as I did.

Oh, and if you've entered your annual late-summer period of fretting about the damage you've done to your skin, I'm also with you. Let's all take a deep breath, stop googling pictures of bad moles, and read the levelheaded advice of a dermatologist.
