It's Your Week: The end of Roe marks a new beginning in the battle over abortion
Welcome to Your Week, our newsletter exclusively for Paste BN subscribers.
Hi! I'm Amanda, filling in for Sallee Ann.Our best-laid plans for Your Week were scuttled when the Supreme Court on Friday morning overturned the landmark Roe v. Wade decision, eliminating the constitutional right to abortion after almost 50 years.
The decision's release unleashed a wave of coverage we had planned around the ruling, no matter which way it went, so we'll walk through some of the highlights.
The ruling, echoing the draft leaked in May, leaves the future of abortion in the hands of states. More than 20 states already have laws that could be used to restrict access to abortion and we've got a full breakdown here.
So while the decades-long fight to overturn Roe v. Wade may be over, the battle over abortion will likely continue.
