Your Prime Day primer

Let's start here, in case this is your first rodeo: Every year, Amazon hosts a two-day sale featuring Black Friday-level deals for Prime members. (Yes, you have to be a member.) You'll find big savings on big-ticket items, so it's a good time to invest in new gadgets and home essentials.

This year, Prime Day is July 12-13. So let's dive in.

Our professional deal-wranglers will be sharing the biggest scores they find here, so you can keep tabs on the best of best deals. But if you'd rather sniff out your own deals or you're hunting for something in particular, take a look at our guides to:

        • the best device deals

        • the best tech deals

        • the best home and furniture deals

        • the best kitchen deals

        • the best TV deals

        • and the best fashion deals

If you don't find what you're looking for on Amazon, take a spin through one of the competing sales at Target, Samsung, Lowe's, Best Buy and Walmart.

You can also get yourself a free four-month trial subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited if you're a Prime member, or a free three-month trial subscription if you're a non-Prime member and iOS customer.

So... that's a lot of deals. And we know that with great deals comes great anxiety. If you're worried about pulling the trigger on something like a refrigerator, lawn mower, or even some placemats — we've tested them all and can point you in the right direction. After all, we're here to help you buy the best stuff, not just the most on-sale stuff.

May the deals be ever in your favor.
