Talking Tech: The green bubble vs. blue bubble fight is back
Editor's Note: You are not experiencing déjà vu. We accidentally sent last week's Talking Tech to you yesterday. This is the actual Talking Tech for this week.
Welcome to Thursday. It's Brett Molina here with your weekly look at what's happening in tech.
That classic battle between the iPhone and Android is back: green bubbles versus blue bubbles.
Quick refresher: When an iPhone owner sends a text to another iPhone, it appears in a blue text bubble on the sender's phone. If that same iPhone owner sends to an Android phone, they instead see green .
Why does it matter? Blue messages mean you're using iMessage, while green means it's being sent as a standard SMS text message.
Google, the makers of Android, have long been unhappy about this. Earlier this year, Google said a big reason Apple dominates is because of peer pressure and bullying.
Google is ramping up, urging Apple to fix the compatibility issues between Android and iPhone. And Google says it's more than just blue or green text bubbles.
"It’s the blurry videos, broken group chats, missing read receipts and typing indicators, no texting over Wi-Fi, and more," said Google. "These problems exist because Apple refuses to adopt modern texting standards when people with iPhones and Android phones text each other."
Are you tired of blue and green bubbles? Have you avoided certain text conversations for this very reason? Let me know on Twitter.

One more thing
Let's close with something awesome: cookies. Not the ones on your browser. The better ones you can eat. The Girl Scouts are rolling out a new flavor for the 2023 selling season. They're called Raspberry Rally, and I've tried them (sneak preview: They're like Thin Mints but with raspberry).
Enjoy your weekend! Thanks for reading.
