The Daily Money: 8 million cleaning products recalled

Before we jump in, if you've started your holiday shopping you're probably watching for a number of packages to arrive on your doorstep. Make sure to read this advice for avoiding porch pirates

Over the past 12 months, 260 million packages worth $19.5 billion were stolen by these front-door thieves, according to data from SafeWise. And theft tends to increase during the holiday season. 

Cleaning product recall

We don't normally think of soap as something that gets recalled for bacteria since of course we don't ingest soap – unless you're a kidtricked into the Tide Pod challenge or Ralphie after saying the Queen Mother of swear words.

But The Laundress brand has recalled nearly 8 million units over the possible presence of several illness-causing bacteria that can be inhaled or enter the body through the eyes or a cut. At least 11 people have reported infections.
