How much does your pet cost you? What college majors have the worst ROI?: The Daily Money

It's Thursday, and we're officially over the hump and rolling right into the weekend!

It's Medora, and it's election season again in Chicago! No one won at least 50% of the small turnout, and so we start this all over again with a runoff between the top two candidates. On top of that, about 10 city council jobs are going back to the polls, too. Maybe it's time to upgrade our streaming to cut the commercials for a few weeks, huh?

Local politics aside, everyone's still worried about high costs. Today, we break down the tab of having pets. After initial start-up costs the first year, a dog can run you between $1,000 to $1,500 annually and up to $10,000 if there's an unexpected illness. A cat will cost you on average $1,149 annually, but they can live more than 17 years. That can add up to a lot of kibble!
