Perks and Rec: Markdowns on appliances and all things travel

If you've had a big-ticket item on your wish list that you've been delaying the purchase of, now's the time to do it. Lowe's Truckload Event is here, with major markdowns on appliances, power tools and outdoor furniture. Our favorite top-freezer fridge from Hotpoint is under $600 right now — it has stellar temperature control for a budget refrigerator, making it a great option for a second fridge or if you don't want to shell out an arm and a leg for a new one.

Over at Nordstrom, we're shopping for all things travel. Luggage is on sale, like carry-on suitcases, duffle bags and cosmetic pouches. We're also picking up some travel-sized versions of our favorite beauty products. The Supergoop travel kit is down from $69 to $50, and includes mini versions of the brand's top-rated Glow Screen for face and body, as well as a full-sized (but still TSA-approved) sunscreen stick.
