Talking Tech: Ready for iPhone 15? Here's your Apple event cheat sheet
Happy first Thursday of September, Talking Tech readers! If you are a football fan, it is truly the most wonderful time of the year. Before this turns into an NFL newsletter, let's jump into this week's tech news.
Next Tuesday, it's Apple's time. The tech giant introduces the iPhone 15, and maybe some other gadgets, like an updated Apple Watch.
So to help you prepare for the big event, here's your unofficial cheat sheet:
When is the Apple event?
September 12 at 1 p.m. ET.
How can I watch the Apple event?
Apple will stream the event from their headquarters on its website. You can also watch on the Apple TV app or its YouTube channel. If you don't have access to video, Paste BN will offer live coverage of every moment.
What new features will they add to the iPhone?
The big rumored feature is a switch to USB-C charging. Your Lightning cable could soon go to that great big cord drawer in the sky. The Pro models are expected to have titanium frames, and a higher price tag. Because who doesn't love to pay even more for their technology?
Will it be the best iPhone ever?
Apple says this every year! Just once I'd love if they said "yeah, this iPhone is alright."
What about iOS 17?
Typically, the next iOS launches the Monday before the new iPhone hits stores. Arguably the most exciting feature is autocorrect gets an update. About ducking time.
What else will they reveal?
We could see a new Apple Watch, and possibly some news on AirPods. Last year, Apple introduced us to the Apple Watch Ultra and the revamped AirPods Pro.
Wait a minute, I'm on Android, why should I care?
I get it. Android phone owners are the Jan Brady of tech. It's always Apple, Apple, Apple. Your job is to chart all the Apple features that Android phone users already have.

Parents finally get to take a deep breath: The kids are back to school again. Of course, the weeks leading up to this moment with all the back-to-school shopping are stressful. Not to mention all the tech questions you might field, such as whether it's the right time for a smartphone or smartwatch. Don't worry, we've got you covered.
One more thing
You know what goes great with an Apple event, or honestly any event in my opinion? Tacos. If you plan to order tacos next Tuesday, Taco Bell and DoorDash have a deal for you.
