Yes, money can buy you happiness - but the amount varies by country
Who says money can’t buy you happiness?
A new analysis concluded that a $105,000 salary is enough to make people happy in the U.S. The report by S Money, a money exchange service, relied on a 2018 Purdue University study and adjusted the amount by the cost of living in different areas.
The U.S. has the 10th highest happiness income threshold in 173 countries. Worldwide, the magic number is $95,000. In Iran, beset by rampant inflation, the figure is the highest out of 173 countries at $239,700. It’s lowest in Sierra Leone, Africa – $8,658.
Payment services Square, Cash App most back online after outages
Payment services Square and Cash App have mostly resolved system outages that have left thousands of people without access to accounts or payments.
The outages started Thursday afternoon and left about 27,000 users without service. Cash App said it was mostly back online Friday at about 11 a.m., and Square said its systems were operating at about 1 p.m.
The companies, both owned by Block., have kept users updated on the status of the outages on their websites and accounts on X, formerly Twitter. Square, which is widely used by small businesses, said it also sends updates via email.
