Perks and Rec: Cold weather deals to keep you warm

The temperature finally dropped into the 40s last night where I live in Alabama, so I'm taking the day to prep for winter weather. No, we won’t get a lot of snow here, but there’s still plenty of ice and chilly wind to battle. I refuse to be cold, even with winter nipping at my nose. 

Today at REI, you can get 25% off past-season snow gear, like thermal layers and all the gear you need for snowboarding and skiing. Or, if you don't anticipate getting more than a few flurries this year, it's a great time to grab some flannels and fleece pullovers.  

I’m thinking of stocking up on thick socks since they’re 20% off when you buy three pairs. These have bears on them, so you better believe I’ll be rocking them all winter long.
