Palestinian Americans face two fronts

A man punched a Sikh teen and tried to forcibly remove his turban on a New York City bus. A six-year-old boy was fatally stabbed in a Chicago suburb in an alleged anti-Muslim hate crime. Police arrested a Michigan man last week for saying in a Facebook post that he wanted to gather people to "hunt Palestinians."

Palestinian Americans are seeing two fronts in the Israel-Hamas war: one is the bloodshed in the Middle East. The other is emotional backlash from bigotry and hate in the U.S.

With a rising death-toll among innocent Palestinians caught up in the war, Muslim community leaders in the U.S. fear the demonization of Palestinians has given way for rise in hatred against them in America. They also noted calls for a ceasefire or restraint have been absent from President Joe Biden's statements on the war.
