The Daily Money: Halloween's scare: frigid temperatures, banned costumes and less candy

Happy Monday! It's Medora on Halloween Eve!
It's frighteningly frigid here in Chicago. In fact, meteorologists are warning Chicago could see the coldest Halloween on record tomorrow with a wintry snow and rain mix!
Didn't the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration just tell us last month, it would be a mild El Nino winter? What happened to that? Well, I guess it technically isn't winter yet..
But the cold seems to fit well with the mood this Halloween. Reports say people are buying fewer treats this year (boo!) and the most popular costume this year is Barbie, but she's on the SAG-AFTRA's banned list (hiss!). If you haven't gotten a costume yet, here's what some of people's favorite celebrities went as to get some ideas (and yes, some of them ignored the ban so you can, too).
If you're among those who didn't buy as much Halloween candy this year, hopefully you're just saving for the holidays. Take a minute and tell us how you're feeling about the holidays for a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card!
