What is the future of Gaza?

While battles between Israel and Hamas rage, an important question looms over the conflict: After the war runs its course, what will happen to Gaza?

In a special edition of Paste BN's "The Excerpt" podcast, World Affairs correspondent Kim Hjelmgaard discusses the fate of Gaza with Mustafa Barghouti, a onetime Palestinian presidential candidate and the current leader of the Palestinian National Initiative.

The PNI is a political party formed in the West Bank more than two decades ago that is described as a "third force" in Palestinian politics. The PNI is opposed to both the Fatah political party, which runs the West Bank through its control of the Palestinian Authority, and Hamas, which controls Gaza.

Listen to Hjelmgarrd's conversation with Barghouti about whether a unity government with all parties represented is the best path forward on The Excerpt podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your smart speaker.
