The Daily Money: Apple to halt some Apple Watch sales; Are the grandparents spoiling the kids?
Hello and Happy Tuesday! This is Betty Lin-Fisher, consumer reporter for Paste BN, bringing you the top headlines of the day.
If an Apple Watch Series 9 or Apples Watch Ultra 2 is on a holiday gift-buying list for yourself or someone else – and you haven't bought it yet – you'd better hurry. (Not to mention that Christmas is six days away!)
Apple is temporarily halting sales for the two smartwatch models. They will no longer be available for purchase in the U.S., with Apple set to drop the device from its website starting at 3 p.m. ET Thursday and its retail stores after Sunday.
The sales pause comes after the U.S. International Trade Commission determined that Apple's blood oxygen feature violated medical technology company Masimo's patent rights. Apple says it intends to appeal the decision to the Federal Circuit, arguing a pause on sales could negatively impact users who rely on Apple Watch safety and health features.

Uncomfortable Conversations: Are the grandparents gifting too much?
Do you have parents or in-laws who are spoiling your kids with too many gifts or loud toys that drive you crazy? Are you a grandparent who just wants to give your grandkids everything and you want your adult kids to ease up?
In the first in a new series for Paste BN, I tackled the first subject: spoiling the grandkids at the holidays and got some practical advice.
The series, called, Uncomfortable Conversations About Money, will tackle sticky situations around money that make you uneasy. We'll outline the problem and try to get some usable solutions. We have a great working list of ideas for this series, but if you have your own ideas of situations you'd like us to tackle or if you would be willing to be interviewed about your own uncomfortable situation, please email me at blinfisher@USATODAY.com with "Uncomfortable Conversations" in the subject line.
