Amazon jumps into online car sales, offers Hyundai vehicles under new partnership

Happy (almost) New Year, Daily Money readers! It's Paul Davidson bringing you the latest headlines in the final edition of 2023.

Amazon sells everything else at the click of a mouse. So why not cars?

This week, the online giant began offering Hyundai vehicles on Amazon.com, the company’s first foray into car sales as it competes with the likes of Carvana and CarMax.

Customers simply check out the inventory on Amazon, select the trim and options and hit checkout. After adding Hyundai to your shopping cart, you can make a down payment and sign all the paperwork. No haggling.

Customers can pick up the car at the dealer, typically in a couple of days.

One caveat: Dealers have to sign up for the program.
