A pro-Israel super PAC's primary plan

Ahead of primary elections Tuesday in Georgia, Oregon, Kentucky and Idaho, a national group has spent major dollars on television ads aimed at exposing candidates with perceived anti-Israel views.

The super PAC associated with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, United Democracy Project, will spend about $300,000 to buy ads on Fox affiliates criticizing Republican Rep. Thomas Massie’s voting record on measures supporting Israel, said project spokesperson Patrick Dorton. The Kentucky Republican voted against condemning Iran's April attack on Israel and was criticized earlier this year for a social media post that appeared to accuse Congress of supporting "Zionism" over "American patriotism."

AIPAC is also targeting an open seat in Oregon following the retirement of Rep. Earl Blumenauer, a staunch Gaza supporter.

Primaries in these four states have implications for the balance of power in Congress — and the voices Americans send to Washington amid wartime tensions on Capitol Hill.
