Perks and Rec: Weekend sales on hiking boots and trendy denim

Yes, it’s still technically summer, but I’m looking forward to fall (and a little reprieve from the heat). There are lots of great sales happening this weekend if you, too, want to live in an imaginary world where apple cider and soup season are upon us. Let’s go shopping. 

Jeans are 25% off at Abercrombie right now. We tried and loved the brand’s Curve Love line, and several cuts are included in the sale. You can pick up a pair of this season’s trendiest style, a low-rise baggy jean, or grab this newsletter writer’s go-to pair.  

Over at REI, we found deals up to 70% off on essentials for fall. I’m eyeing a pair of hiking boots so I can properly enjoy the upcoming autumn foliage. Plus, there are plenty of deep discounts on things like tents, backpacks, jackets and great socks. 

If you need me, I’ll be celebrating National Book Lovers Day the best way I know how—by curling up with a good book.
