'Pivotal moment': NASCAR's Confederate flag ban and athletes refusing to stick to sports
We *finally* got a fresh taste of live sports with golf's return, but we're still largely missing our favorite pastimes. That doesn't mean the news took a break. Plenty from this week for us to tackle in Good Sports, so let's dive in:
Finally gone
NASCAR banned the Confederate flag from all of its races and properties. It's about time.
Bubba Wallace, the only Black driver in NASCAR's Cup Series, called the ban a "huge, pivotal moment," and that fan reaction has been "more good than bad."
We'll soon find out, Dan Wolken says, what mattered more to the subsection of NASCAR fans who view this as a bad thing: was it the racing they liked, or the racism?
