One Shining Moment(s): College basketball crowns champions after trying season

Gonzaga looked like it had all the right stuff. Shooters. Scoring big man. Athletes. Experience. Turns out Baylor, losers of only one game this season, had all those things---and more. The Bears led handily throughout Monday's title game, winning 86-70 to ruin Gonzaga's chance at a perfect season.

Stanford held on against Pac-12 rival Arizona to win the women's national championship Sunday. Getting it done with its depth and its grit, the title was Stanford's first since 1992.  

End of an era

After 33 seasons as a college basketball head coach, Roy Williams is calling it a career. He spent the last 18 seasons – following 15 seasons at Kansas – at his alma mater, North Carolina. He won 903 games in his career and went to nine Final Fours, winning three national titles as head coach of UNC.
