4th & Monday: We still don't know what a catch in the NFL is...

'Tis the season for clinching playoff berths and draft spots.

While four teams clinched playoff spots in Week 16, the Cleveland Browns secured the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Not in a giving mood this holiday season are the NFL refs, who drew more controversy after a replay review took away a Bills touchdown. Nobody -- not even the replay officials -- seem to know what a catch is anymore.

What is not up for debate are the MVP qualifications of running back Todd Gurley, who had a historic game in helping the Rams clinch their first division title since 2003. Elsewhere in the NFC West, it's too late for Jimmy Garoppolo to make an MVP run, but his impressive play has the 49ers undefeated in the four games he's started.

THE MUST-SEE MOMENTS YOU MISSED

- Here we go again: Mike Pereira absolutely shredded the NFL for overturning Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin's apparent touchdown catch.

- Seahawks cornerback Justin Coleman was in the holiday spirit, jumping into the Salvation Army kettle after a pick six against the Cowboys.

- It came in a losing effort, but Texans star DeAndre Hopkins came up with one of the top touchdown grabs of the year against the Steelers.

- Did Earl Thomas cross the line when he told Cowboys coach Jason Garrett, "If y’all have a chance, come get me"?

- Chiefs coach Andy Reid was in the holiday spirit after Kansas City beat Miami to clinch the AFC West. Reid waltzed into the team's locker room to celebrate ... dressed as Santa

- Jameis Winston lost his mind on the refs after losing a fumble in the closing seconds of the Bucs loss to the Panthers.

- This might be the coolest trade the Jets will make all year. Jamal Adams gets a wristband from a young fan, and the fan gets some Christmas cleats.

- Butt Interception! It's not as bad as the infamous Butt Fumble, but Matt Ryan probably wants this pick back.

- Pro Bowl lineman and future Hall of Famer Joe Thomas might have a career as a weatherman after this pregame report.

- Check 'em out! Christmas cleats are the best kinds of cleats.

- The Cleveland Browns are on the clock after earning the first overall pick in the NFL draft for the second-consecutive year.

- The NFL RedZone channel got off to a late start to due "technical difficulties" and fans everywhere handled it well. Just kidding. EVERYONE FREAKED OUT

- Let the drama begin! Week 17 will decide the NFC South, the league's lone undecided division.

- It takes some thought, but this was an A-plus troll-job from the Saints against the Falcons.

- For the first time since 1977, the NFL regular season won't end with a prime-time TV game.

THE RUNDOWN

Eagles 19, Raiders 10: The Eagles beat the Raiders and secured the No. 1 seed in the NFC on Jake Elliott's field goal with 22 seconds to go (before adding a defensive score on the game's final play).

Steelers 34, Texans 6: Pittsburgh cruised past Houston to secure a first-round bye in the AFC playoffs.

Seahawks 21, Cowboys 12: Ezekiel Elliott returned, but that couldn't save the Cowboys from elimination from playoff contention.

49ers 44, Jaguars 33: Jimmy Garoppolo dropped 44 points on the league's stingiest defense, and in doing so improved to 4-0 as the 49ers' starting QB.

Cardinals 23, Giants 0: By suffering its 13th loss this season, this year's Giants team will have the dubious distinction of being the worst team (in terms of losses) in the franchise's 92-year history.

Bears 20, Browns 3: Another game, another loss for the Cleveland Browns under Hue Jackson.

Bengals 26, Lions 17: The Lions are eliminated from playoff contention, putting head coach Jim Caldwell on thin ice.

Rams 27, Titans 23: The Rams win secured the NFC West title and a postseason berth for the first time since 2004.

Chiefs 29, Dolphins 13: After a season of ups-and-downs, Alex Smith and the Chiefs have now won back-to-back AFC West titles for the first time in franchise history.

Patriots 37, Bills 16: Buffalo had New England on its heels but ran out of gas, especially in the red zone.

Saints 23, Falcons 13: They haven't won the NFC South yet, but the Saints have clinched a playoff berth.

Chargers 14, Jets 7: Believe it or not, the Chargers are still in the playoff mix.

Redskins 27, Broncos 11: Kirk Cousins looked like the franchise quarterback D.C. fans want him to be, throwing for three touchdowns in the win.

Panthers 22, Buccaneers 19: It wasn't pretty, but Carolina's win earned the Panthers a spot in the playoffs.

Ravens 23, Colts 16 (Saturday): Despite not playing their best game, the Ravens edged closer to a playoff berth.

Vikings 16, Packers 0 (Saturday): The Packers stayed loyal to Brett Hundley, and it backfired with another loss at Lambeau.

EYES ON THAT (FANTASY) PRIZE

The only thing fantasy owners can reasonably ask on Championship Week is for a league title to be determined by the players on the field — and not an injury or strange quirk of ridiculously bad luck.

For those who rode Todd Gurley all season, greatness has been an every-week occurrence. Once again, the Los Angeles Rams running back was spectacular in all facets of the game — and he very likely carried his owners to a fantasy title.
