Trade deadline looms: Which teams could buyers or sellers?

It's Week 8 and we wonder which teams might try to swing some deals going into Tuesday's trade deadline. Before we dive in, enjoy these:

Now for a closer look at the action:

Week 8's best and brightest

About last night: Vikings 19, Redskins 9 -- You like that? Kirk Cousins got a small measure of revenge as the Minnesota Vikings cruised at home against his former team, the Washington Redskins. After yet another highly-efficient day we have to ask: Can Cousins actually lead this team to the Super Bowl?

On the 'Skins side, Case Keenum – the QB whom Cousins was brought in to replace in Minnesota – was knocked from the game due to a concussion, turning the reins over to first-round pick Dwayne Haskins after halftime.

Quick look at Week 8:

  • Game of the Week: Green Bay Packers at Kansas City Chiefs -- Coming off the first perfect passer rating in Packers history, Aaron Rodgers now is in the MVP race. The playing status of the reigning MVP -- Patrick Mahomes -- is still TBD. This is the second of three straight games for the Packers against AFC West teams. Up next in Week 9: A virtual home game against the Chargers in Carson.
  • Sneaky-Good Game of the Week: Arizona Cardinals at New Orleans Saints -- The Kyler Murray-led Cardinals have won three straight and generating some buzz. The Saints have won five in row with Teddy Bridgewater behind center, but Drew Brees' return awaits
  • Disappointment Bowl: Los Angeles Chargers at Chicago Bears -- Two teams some pigskin prognosticators figured to be competing for high-level playoff spots are struggling to remain in the race.
  • Sunday Ticket Game of the Week: Philadelphia Eagles at Buffalo Bills -- This will be a good measuring stick for both squads. After losing two straight in embarrassing fashion, Eagles need a confidence boost. The Bills are looking to show their 5-1 record is legit.
  • Survivor Pool Game of the Week: Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons -- The Seahawks are smarting from a rough home loss to the Ravens. The Falcons appear to be in an absolute free-fall. This seems like a rebound situation for Seattle, especially if Matt Ryan is a no-go. Full disclosure: The previous picks have been been the Ravens (Week 1), Texans (Week 2), Vikings (Week 3), Chargers (Week 4), Eagles (Week 5), Cowboys (Week 6) and 49ers (Week 7).
  • Dud of the Week: Miami Dolphins at Pittsburgh Steelers -- The Dolphins' #TankforTua season rolls into the Steel City, where the Steelers are going to #DoItforTuitt. Yes, this is where we're at with #MNF
