Patriots make low-risk, high-reward move to acquire Cam Newton
Cam Newton spent three months unsigned, but his patience paid off when the 2015 NFL MVP was acquired by the New England Patriots.

News of the Patriots agreeing to a deal with Newton dropped almost simultaneously Sunday with that of the team being penalized for filming the Bengals' sideline last season. The Patriots were fined $1.1 million and were stripped of a 2021 third-round draft pick.
