How Deshaun Watson's trade request could profoundly impact 2021 NFL draft

Between the top draft prospects at the position and the movement among veterans, this is shaping up to be a wild offseason for quarterbacks. Our Nate Davis sorted through the fallout of Philip Rivers' retirement, Matthew Stafford's divorce from the Lions and Deshaun Watson's trade demand to compile his updated mock draft. Might the Jets opt to pull off a blockbuster move for a veteran QB such as Watson rather than draft a passer at No. 2 overall?

The first major event of the draft season -- the Senior Bowl -- is taking place this week in Mobile, Alabama, with the game on Saturday (2:30 p.m. ET, NFL Network). While national championship-winning quarterback Mac Jones has been impressive, a small-school lineman has been a revelation.

Deshaun Watson wants out of Houston

The Texans have a new general manager and head coach, but it isn't looking promising for them to work with one of the league's top quarterbacks. Deshaun Watson has asked for a trade, a development that comes as a surprise to nobody. The four-year contract extension that Watson signed in September contains a no-trade clause that would basically enable Watson to approve prospective trade destinations.
