What is Urban Meyer thinking? Plus, key offseason questions for Super Bowl 55 teams

Urban Meyer is only a month into his tenure with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he's already made his first big whiff as an NFL head coach.

On Thursday, it was announced that Meyer hired Chris Doyle to be the Jaguars' director of sport performance.

If that name isn't familiar to you, here's a refresher: Doyle previously was the head strength and conditioning coach for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Doyle left the program in June after allegations of racism and bullying surfaced.

So, eight months later, Doyle essentially gets a promotion to the NFL courtesy of Meyer, who said that Jaguars owner Shad Khan and general manager Trent Baalke signed off on the decision.

Paste BN Sports' Dan Wolken writes that Meyer's tired excuse that he's known Doyle for a long time just doesn't fly.
