Dak Prescott and the Cowboys finally hashed out that long-term deal. Here's how it happened.


The long Dak Prescott-Dallas Cowboys contract saga that played out for two years finally is over.

Prescott agreed to an extension Monday night, right before the deadline for teams to apply franchise tags on players.

Prescott's new pact is 💰💰💰.

Four years, $160 million, including $126 million guaranteed and an NFL-record $66 million signing bonus. 

Getting to this point has been — (how do we say this nicely) — a process.

There were polarizing hot takes about the worth of Prescott, who entered the NFL as a fourth-round draft pick in 2016, and whether the Cowboys valued their dynamic quarterback appropriately.
