NFL Week 4 breakdown: Eagles rally to remain unbeaten, Ravens blow another big lead
NFL Week 4 is (almost) complete. Here are the biggest developments from Sunday's action:
- Ravens coach John Harbaugh will be second-guessed by every pro football TV pundit.
- The Chiefs rebounded in a big way against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.
- The Eagles remain the lone undefeated team after Sunday's comeback win.
- Drama around concussion protocols overshadowed the on-field goings on this weekend.
Biggest moments of NFL Week 4
- Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes had a highlight-reel touchdown flip to Clyde Edwards-Helaire against the Buccaneers.
- Saquon Barkley made a cameo as Giants quarterback after injuries to Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor.
- The Bears had another brutal offensive performance, but at least their last-gasp hook-and-lateral attempt was entertaining.
- Seahawks WR DK Metcalf was carted to the locker room because he required assistance to reach the Ford Field bathrooms.
- With the Seattle Mariners clinching their first playoff berth since 2001, the New York Jets now have the second-longest playoff drought among the five major men's North American pro sports leagues.
- Rex Ryan, the former NFL head coach and current analyst on ESPN’s "Sunday NFL Countdown," called Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion evaluation an "epic fail."
Key storylines from NFL Week 4
- 32 things we learned: The league's concussion protocol is issue No. 1 hanging over this season. No. 1 also happens to be the jersey number of Tua Tagovailoa.
- Winners and losers: While the Eagles showed that they can overcome a big early deficit, the Ravens blew their second double-digit lead this season.
- Patrick Mahomes provides relief with typical creative flash: Battered in a Super Bowl 55 loss to the Buccaneers, Mahomes and the Chiefs turned the tide on Sunday night, Jarrett Bell writes.
- Ravens defend John Harbaugh's fourth-down decision: Baltimore blew a second-half lead in Sunday's loss to Buffalo, exacerbated by coach Harbaugh's controversial late-game call.
- Add one more question for NFL to ask in wake of Tua's head injuries: Nancy Armour wonder if anyone can trust the NFL to fix its head trauma protocols so this doesn’t happen again.
