Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles will meet in Super Bowl 57
The matchup for Super Bowl 57 is set: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles.
The Chiefs are back on the Super Sunday stage for the third time in four years, seeking a second Lombardi Trophy in the Andy Reid-Patrick Mahomes era. The Eagles, meanwhile, are back in the Super Bowl five years after a wild win over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 52, but after a reboot. The Eagles also have been installed as early betting favorites in the "Big Game."
Recapping Championship Sunday:
- The Eagles cruised the victory over the 49ers in the NFC championship.
- The Chiefs edged the Bengals in an AFC championship nail-biter.
AFC and NFC championship game analysis
- Winners and losers: While Patrick Mahomes has left no doubt that he is a magician with the ball, the Bengals-Chiefs rivalry has emerged as the most exciting one in football right now.
- Was it too easy for Eagles this season? Philadelphia now will face their stiffest test yet in Super Bowl 57, the Kansas City Chiefs.
- 49ers have QB questions to answer now: While 49ers should be commended for reaching NFC title game with QB3 Brock Purdy, a rookie, the offseason presents questions on their QB future.
Biggest moments from the conference championships
- The Chiefs' Travis Kelce had words for the "Burrowhead" moniker and the Cincinnati mayor after Sunday's win.
- Wins by the Chiefs and Eagles set up a "Bro Bowl" featuring Jason and Travis Kelce in the first Super Bowl matchup with two brothers as players on opposite sidelines.
- The Bengals were left lamenting the late mistakes that cost them a return trip to the Super Bowl.
- As expected, Eagles fans went wild in the streets of Philadelphia on Sunday night.
- 49ers left tackle Trent Williams and the Eagles' K’Von Wallace were ejected late in the fourth quarter of the NFC title game.
- 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy injured his elbow, left the NFC championship, then had to re-enter the game when backup Josh Johnson suffered a concussion.
- The Empire State Building seemed to celebrate the Eagles' NFC title game win.
