Aaron Rodgers has been traded. What's it mean for the Packers, the Jets and the NFL?

Aaron Rodgers has been traded to the New York Jets

Though the move has seemed inevitable for weeks, Rodgers' divorce from the Green Bay Packers is still a titanic development that will impact the 2023 season and beyond. After all, Rodgers is a four-time MVP, a Super Bowl MVP and had been with the Packers since 2005, which had made him the longest-tenured player with his team in the NFL.

There's a lot to sift through. That's why we're here!

Winners and losers of the Aaron Rodgers trade

Rodgers goes to the Meadowlands in a deal that will reportedly see the teams swap first-round draft picks (Packers will get No. 13 this week and Jets will now be No. 15) and the Packers receive a second-round pick and sixth-round pick from the Jets. The Packers will also get a 2024 conditional second-round pick that could become a first if Rodgers, 39, plays at least 65% of the snaps for the Jets. But who made out best? Paste BN Sports' Nate Davis breaks the deal down.

Why Aaron Rodgers is not Packers' GOAT

The addition of Rodgers – who will be debuting a new number with the Jets – makes Gang Green a Super Bowl contender ... on paper. But Rodgers brought the Lombardi Trophy home to Green Bay just once in his 15 years as the Packers' starting quarterback. Given the importance of winning it all to "Titletown," it's hard to view Rodgers as the best Packers player of all time, Paste BN Sports' Jarrett Bell writes

Aaron Rodgers' best moments with Packers

Still though, that's not to say there weren't great moments for Rodgers. As he moves on after 18 seasons, it's also worth reflecting on everything he did accomplish with the Packers

What do Packers do now?

Is this a rebuild? That is to be determined. What we do know, is the reins are being handed over to Jordan Love, a first-round pick in 2020 who has been riding the pine behind Rodgers the past three seasons.

One other thing we know: The rival Bears will not be missing Rodgers.
