NFL draft's most questionable first round picks
The first round of the 2023 NFL draft is in the books.
It opened with the anticipated selection of Alabama quarterback Bryce Young by the Carolina Panthers with the No. 1 overall pick.
Then things got zany. While the Houston Texans picked Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud at No. 2 (not totally unexpected), they stunned everybody by trading up into the No. 3 spot to take Alabama linebacker Will Anderson Jr. That was a bold move for the Texans to collect what they hope is a long-term franchise quarterback and arguably the best defensive player in the draft. They weren't messing around.
Some other teams meanwhile, left some scratching their heads. Paste BN Sports' Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz identifies those questionable first-round decisions, which prominently features the Detroit Lions.
